Steps to Success

Becoming a franchisee with Cousins Subs is a clear eight step process. The following information details every step of this process.

Read through the franchise information in this section. We want you to know everything you need to in order to make an informed decision. If you feel that you meet the Cousins Subs requirements and wish to become part of our franchise community, fill in our pre-qualification survey. Or call us at 800-238-9736.

Complete the online pre-qualification survey. A Cousins Subs representative will review your request and contact you to discuss. If you meet the initial qualifications, you will be invited to submit a franchise application.

Submitting a franchise application will provide Cousins Subs a detailed history of your work experience, assets, and financial status. Upon receipt of your qualified application, a credit check will be run as it pertains to qualification and status. Also at this time, your application will be reviewed by a representative from the franchise sales department; and after careful consideration of your skill sets, employment background and your overall fit with the Cousins organization, you will then be contacted to schedule an interview.

This interview, conducted over the phone or in person, is a detailed conversation about many things, including your qualifications and plans for owning and operating your Cousins sub shop.

As part of your due diligence, on/or before a personal interview you will be given a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) which contains comprehensive and valuable information for franchise candidates. After which we will decide to extend an invitation to attend the next phase of process, Discovery Day.

Discovery Day at Cousins Subs is designed to provide information from the people and departments that will support you as a franchisee. You’ll get a high level overview of the entire operation, and have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the people in each of the following areas: marketing, advertising, accounting, finance, purchasing, distribution, operations, real estate, legal, franchising and store development.

Once you have completed your due diligence, you’ll be asked to fill out a letter of intent to become an owner/operator of a Cousins Subs franchise. The letter of intent will be a detailed summary of your business plan. This request to franchise with Cousins will be reviewed for final approval.

Once you are approved as a Cousins Subs franchisee, we will send you the Franchise Agreements, which you will be able to sign after the appropriate waiting period. You will then return the signed Franchise Agreements along with a cashier’s check for your franchise fee to Cousins Subs Systems, Inc. Cousins Subs will sign the agreements and set up a training schedule for you.
