Steps to Success
Becoming a franchisee with Cousins Subs is an eight step process, one that's very easy to get started!
The following information will take you step by step through the process - click on the links at left or in the text for a more detailed description of that step.
Get Informed
Read through the information in this section. If there is a Franchise Seminar being hosted near you, consider attending. If you feel you meet the Cousins Subs requirements and wish to become part of our franchise community, please proceed to the next step.
Pre Qualification
Complete the on-line prequalification form. A representative from the Franchise Sales Department will review your prequalification request form and contact you to discuss. If you meet the initial qualifications, you will proceed to the next step.
Apply
Submitting a franchise application will provide Cousins a detailed history of your work experience, assets, and financial status. Upon receipt, a credit check will be run as it pertains to qualification and status. Also at this time, your application will be reviewed by a representative from the franchise sales department. You will then be contacted to schedule an interview.
Conduct a phone interview
This interview is a detailed conversation about many things, including your qualifications and plans for running the Cousins shop. After careful consideration of your skill sets, employment background and overall fit with the Cousins organization, a determination will be made on whether or not you will be extended an invitation to attend the next phase of the process, Discovery Day.
Attend Discovery Day
Discovery Day at Cousins Subs is designed to provide information from the people and departments that will support you as a franchisee. Ask questions directly to the people in each of the following areas: marketing, advertising, accounting, finance, purchasing, distribution, operations, real estate, legal, franchising, and store development. Visit one or more Cousins Subs locations, and meet other candidates from around the country.
Do Your Due Diligence
At the end of Discovery Day, you will be given a UFOC which contains comprehensive and valuable information for franchise candidates. You will need to confirm your commitment to the Cousins Subs opportunity by talking to existing franchise owners in the Cousins Subs system.
Final Approval
Once you have completed your due diligence, forward us your letter of intent to become an owner/operator of a Cousins Subs franchise. The letter of intent will be a detailed summary of your business plan to run your business. Your request to franchise with Cousins will be reviewed for final approval.
Join the Team
Once you are approved as a Cousins Subs franchisee, we will overnight the Franchise Agreements to you. You will be able to sign them after the appropriate waiting period. You will then overnight the signed Franchise Agreements along with a cashiers check for your franchise fee to Cousins Subs Systems, Inc. Cousins Subs will sign the agreements and set up a training schedule for you.
