Owner of Jefferson County Cousins Subs® Restaurants Recognized for Community Commitment

Opportunities Inc., which helps employ and empower people with disabilities, recently presented Gerry Arnholt, owner of Cousins Subs at 1506 S. Church St. in Watertown, with a plaque recognizing his support for the organization. Chelsea Janik, an Opportunities  participant and senior at Watertown High School, works at the Watertown Cousins Subs as part of her efforts to transition from high school to community employment. What began as an 8-week work experience has led to a permanent, part-time job for Chelsea at the store.

"Gerry Arnholt and the team at Cousins Subs have been exemplary in their continued efforts to provide Chelsea with an environment that allows her to learn and develop lifelong skills in the workplace," said Mary Plesh, employment specialist with  Opportunities, Inc. "Due to the support of the Cousins Subs team in Watertown, the job coaching for Chelsea by Opportunities continues to fade as she gains her independence on the job.

"The staff of Opportunities is extremely proud of Chelsea and is presenting Cousins Subs in Watertown a plaque in recognition of its gratitude for Cousins' continued support of Chelsea and the community."

Arnholt also owns the Cousins Subs at 1520 State Highway 26 in Jefferson, inside  Wal-Mart.
