Statewide search for Wisconsin’s best moo-ers to stop in Appleton and Green Bay
Milwaukee, WI – Cousins Submarines, Inc. announced today that its decked-out “Moo Mobile” is hitting Wisconsin roads this summer in search of the state’s best, brightest and most creative moo-ers to compete in Moo-la-palooza, the world famous mooing contest at the Wisconsin State Fair. The Moo-lapalooza grand champion receives a $1,000 prize, an entire year of free subs from Cousins Subs and bragging rights to the wackiest and loudest contest of the year.
The statewide “Mooooo Tour” – the first in Moo-la-palooza’s six-year history – will stop in Appleton on Thursday, June 4, where it will audition moo-ers starting at 4 p.m. at the Timber Rattlers’ stadium. The moomobile will then head to the Cousins Subs store at 2901 Ramada Way on Saturday, June 13, in Ashwaubenon to hear moo callers starting at 11 a.m. There is no cost to enter, and Cousins Subs will donate $1 for every moo entry to local 4-H Youth programs.
“This contest gives everyone in Appleton, Green Bay and across our great state the best excuse for being loud and proud about our dairy heritage here in Wisconsin. What better way to show that pride than by giving our beloved bovines a real run for their moooo-lah?” said Larry Weissman, vice president of marketing for Cousins Subs. “The best part about all of this is that the proceeds from the Moo Tour stops and Moo-lapalooza go to 4-H clubs around Wisconsin. The 4-H community does so much for the youth in our state, so we wanted to give something back.”
“Mooovers and shakers” from all over the state can compete in any one of the 10 “Moo Tour” stops over the next two months at different locations around Northeast and Southeast Wisconsin. These events will weed out the most creative and loudest moo-ers in the crowd and send them to the Wisconsin State Fair to compete in Moo-la-palooza, set for August 15. In exchange for giving the crowd their best moo, contestants can enter drawings to win free 7 ½” subs from Cousins Subs, tickets to the Wisconsin State Fair and other prizes.

About Cousins Subs
Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
