Cousins Subs Partners With American Red Cross To Raise Money As Part Of The "Heroes" Campaign
Milwaukee, WI – Cousins Subs Systems, Inc. today announced a special event for families at participating Milwaukee area Cousins Subs stores in an effort to raise money for the American Red Cross and its “Heroes” campaign.
Thirty-two participating Cousins Subs stores will host volunteers with the Southeastern Wisconsin chapter of the American Red Cross on Saturday, May 30. From 11:30 am to 1:30 p.m., and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Red Cross representatives will be handing out orders and collecting “tips” to benefit the “Heroes” campaign. The Red Cross’ Disaster Action Team will also be coming to Cousins Subs locations offering tours of the Red Cross Disaster Emergency Vehicle (ERV). One of the ERV’s drivers most recently drove to North Dakota to assist residents there with floods.
Red Cross volunteers will also be taking donations at stores throughout the day, as well as providing information about the organization and the “Heroes” campaign itself.
Cousins Subs, which has signed on to be a “Hero” for the Red Cross campaign, will have a $1.99 7 1/2- inch ham and provolone, and turkey sub special for all guests who make any cash donation to the American Red Cross “Heroes” campaign from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Everyone who donates will be given an entry form to fill out for a chance to win a party package from Cousins Subs, that includes a 30-piece party platter, chips and a cookie platter.
“The Red Cross is a terrific organization, and it does so much for the people here in the Milwaukee area,” said Larry Weissman, vice president of marketing for Cousins Subs. “They’re always there to lend a helping hand, so for one day, we want to do the same for them. We’re proud to be a ‘Hero’ for this great cause, and we encourage everyone to come out on this day.”
About the Heroes Campaign
The funds raised through the Heroes Campaign enable the Red Cross to deliver its programs and services. Each Hero raises $1,000, at a minimum. Through the Heroes campaign, the Red Cross involves as many individuals as possible to raise funds in fun and creative ways. The Heroes Campaign occurs during the month of May 2009.
