Cousins Subs, Salvation Army Partnering With Local Businesses To Fill Food Pantry Shelves In Kenosha County
Pleasant Prairie, WI – Cousins Subs and the Salvation Army of Kenosha County today announced they are partnering with local businesses on a Community Food Drive to collect items for the Salvation Army’s food pantry and celebrate the grand opening of Cousins’ new Pleasant Prairie store.
Non-perishable food items will be collected in barrels at participating businesses from now through Friday, March 20, and at Cousins, 9901 77th St. in Pleasant Prairie, from now through Saturday, March 21. Additionally, the first 100 people to bring three or more food items to the Pleasant Prairie Cousins on Saturday, March 21, will receive a certificate for a free 7½-inch sub of their choice.
“Cousins Subs has a long history of being an involved corporate citizen, and we thought a special community project would be a great way to celebrate the opening of our new restaurant here,” said Joe Starosta, owner of the Pleasant Prairie Cousins. “Many people, and the agencies that help them, are having a tough time these days. We are honored to have this opportunity to work with our fellow businesses and our Pleasant Prairie neighbors to help put much-needed food on local pantry shelves.”

About Cousins Subs
Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
