North Pole Reports Good Behavior at Extraordinary Level – Local Kids Asked to Help Make Toys
Menomonee Falls, WI. – Shockwaves were sent around the world when officials at the North Pole announced that boys and girls have demonstrated such good behavior in the past year that Santa’s elves are falling behind on toy production. Despite that, North Pole spirits are up thanks to a plan to get production back on schedule.
“A handful of Wisconsin kids will be asked to take the trip of a lifetime on Cousins Subs North Pole Express and help Santa and his elves make toys at the North Pole,” says Larry Weissman, vice president of marketing for Cousins Subs. “The extra help will be enough to get production back on track and help make the holidays special for families everywhere.”
Starting on Nov. 1, kids between the ages of 2 and 8 years old will write letters to Santa and turn them in at participating Cousins Subs stores located in Southeastern Wisconsin or online at www.cousinssubs.com. On Dec. 13, 25 lucky kids plus one guardian will be randomly chosen to take a short journey aboard a decorated Amtrak train to the North Pole. There, not only will the kids be entertained, they will also assist Santa and his elves with making toys for other good little boys and girls around the world.
For every letter submitted, Cousins Subs will donate $1 (up to $2,000) to Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Wisconsin.
“We’re grateful to partners like Cousins Subs for helping us grant wishes,” said Renee Kirnberger, director of development and communications for Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Wisconsin.
Cousins Subs introduced the North Pole Express for the first time in 2006 and it was met with overwhelming support. Since then, thousands of kids have turned in letters and many local organizations volunteered their services to make the experience extra special.
“A trip to the North Pole will no doubt be a magical, memorable experience,” says Weissman. “But the opportunity for the kids to get involved in the giving part of the holiday season will make it even more special.”

About Cousins Subs
Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
