Cousins Subs Starts Search For Next Moo Idol
Milwaukee, WI – The wait is over and the search is on. Cousins Subs is launching Moo Trials, a month-long contest to round up the best mooers in the state and get them ready for Moo-la-palooza – the world famous mooing contest held annually at Wisconsin State Fair.
Moo Trials is an online audio mooing contest that will give one lucky winner a leg up on the competition in Moo-la-palooza by guaranteeing them one of the 75 spots available in the contest. The top prize for Moo Trials also includes $500 spending money, a $50 Cousins Subs gift card, limited travel reimbursement, five Wisconsin State Fair admission tickets and parking pass. Moo Trials works by asking users to upload their best moo by telephone so that people can vote for their favorites. Moo Trials will also award prizes to four runners-up.
“The process is free, easy and fun,” says Larry Weissman, Cousins Subs vice president of marketing. “Moo Trials is a great way to prepare people for the big contest at Wisconsin State Fair where there is serious money and glory on the line.”
Not only does Moo Trials let people practice their bovine impersonations, it also benefits a good cause, the Wisconsin 4-H, a youth organization dedicated to teaching kids life and leadership skills. For every moo collected, Cousins Subs will donate $1 to Wisconsin 4-H for the first 500 entries.
Cousins Subs Moo Trials will be accepting entries July 1-31. Contestants enter by going to cousinssubs.com and then follow a few easy instructions. They can also stop by select Wisconsin county fairs where a special Cousins Subs team will help people enter the contest. Look for the Cousins Subs Moo Trials team at the following county fairs during the specified times:
• Dane County Fair - July 18 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
• Washington County Fair - July 25 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
• Outagamie County Fair - July 26 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
“You don’t necessarily need experience around cows to be a good mooer,” says Weissman. “But contestants that come out to the county fairs and spend some time in the dairy barns will likely have a competitive advantage.”
Cousins Subs began Moo-La-Palooza in 2004 as a fundraiser for 4-H. Since then, it has quickly churned into a world famous gathering. The popularity of the contest grows each year and brings together fun and energetic mooers.
Moo-la-palooza kicks off at 4 p.m. (registration starts at 3 p.m.) on Saturday, August 9 at the Cousins Subs Amphitheater at the Wisconsin State Fair, which runs from July 31- August 10th . Find the great daily entertainment line up for the Cousins Subs Amphitheater at WiStateFair.com.

About Cousins Subs
Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
