Cousins Subs Gives Facelift to New and Existing Stores

Menomonee Falls, WI – Cousins Subs recently unveiled a sleek new look to enhance both new and existing stores. Highlights of Cousins Subs’ remodeling trends includes streamlined, free standing tables and chairs, large radius counters, self serve chip and soda stations, and grab-and-go bottled beverages.

Michael Rea, director of construction and design at Cousins Subs for nearly 30 years, oversaw the new design that took place the past few months. He also supervises all build-outs for new stores and updating of existing Cousins Subs restaurants.

“It has been a big endeavor to get current stores up-to-date and stay on top of new stores we have coming into the system,” said Rea. “But it is a sign we are growing and something we are all excited about.”

Eight new Cousins Subs stores have opened and four in Wisconsin have received modern makeovers. Restaurant construction has not stopped customers from coming by and taking their food to-go during the remodeling process.

“No matter how nice the stores are, guests won’t come back if the service isn’t there to complete the experience,” said Barb Le Blanc, director of training and menu integration for Cousins Subs.

The new modern look plays a large part, along with good service, in attracting and maintaining customers. Le Blanc used the remodeling process as an opportunity to reintroduce the basics of customer service and product knowledge to the staff.

Grand reopening plans are in place for Cousins Subs to make a big impact in their communities and introduce themselves to new customers.

About Cousins Subs

Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
