North Pole Express Rolls into Milwaukee to Benefit Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
Menomonee Falls, WI – Soon, thousands of kids will be taking the time to write letters to Santa Claus, with the hopes of having their wishes come true. A group of lucky kids from Wisconsin will have more than their wishes realized, as they will have a chance to win one of 15 golden tickets for a seat on the North Pole Express for a magical adventure to the mythical holiday land, which will become reality on Saturday, December 16, 2006.
The adventure begins when kids turn in their “Dear Santa” letters at a participating Cousins Subs location in Southeastern Wisconsin or online at www.cousinssubs.com/npexpress beginning November 13, 2006. Once all letters are collected, fifteen will be randomly drawn for the golden tickets, giving the lucky kids a seat on the North Pole Express, powered by Amtrak.
The twenty minute train ride to the North Pole will be full of holiday fun and surprises including live entertainment, treats and games, and will culminate with meeting Santa, his reindeer and elves in the North Pole. In addition, Cousins Subs will donate $1 for each letter submitted, to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, up to $2,000. Cousins Subs will also reserve a number of seats on the pole-bound locomotive for kids from Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
“The holidays are about children, imagination and believing,” says Larry Weissman, vice president of marketing for Cousins Subs. “We want to create an extraordinary experience which leaves a lasting impression on kids throughout Wisconsin, and just as important, raise money and support for Children's Hospital, one of Wisconsin’s true gifts for kids in need.”
“Cousins Subs has become known for its amazing events that unite the community in very special ways,” says Tanya Bissen, of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, “and we’re excited to be part of such a remarkable one. Children will dream about winning a magical ride to the North Pole to meet Santa, but the warm feeling that comes from helping others by submitting letters will make the experience more meaningful and truly amazing for all children.”
The fifteen lucky winners will be drawn in early December for their visit to the North Pole on Saturday, December 16, 2006. Kids between ages two and eight can turn in their letters from Monday, November 13 through Tuesday, December 5, 2006. Winning children will require one parent or guardian to accompany them aboard the Cousins Subs North Pole Express.
About Cousins Subs
Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
