Cousins Subs Solves Stocking Stuffer Dilemma

Menomonee Falls, WI – As the search for the perfect gift begins, Cousins Subs responds to customer demand and introduces the reusable Cousins Subs plastic gift card. A convenient and appreciated gift for anyone who enjoys great food and great value, the cards will be available system-wide as of November 10 at the popular restaurant known for its better bread and serious subs.

The plastic gift cards are replacing the traditional paper certificates, which will still be honored as the new cards are phased in. "No more fussing with paper certificates that are easily lost or damaged," explains Cousins Subs Vice President of Marketing Larry Weissman. "The new reusable plastic cards can hold up to $100 and are re-chargeable," says Weissman, confident that consumers will take to the convenience and durability of the new cards.

"Gift cards are popular and practical. They're compact and easily slipped into stockings or envelopes," adds Weissman. The Retail Institute of Purdue University predicts 10% of all holiday sales (approximately $45 billion) will be spent on gift cards this year. "The cards make great gifts year-round," agrees Weissman. "From grandkids to parents or co-workers, it's a gift they can use at any of our 160 locations nationwide anytime they are hungry."

About Cousins Subs

Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
