2006 Cousins Subs Moo-la-palooza Rocks Wisconsin State Fair

West Allis, WI – Cousins Subs herded hundreds into the Central Mall at the Wisconsin State Fair for the third annual Moo-la-palooza mooing contest. Three Wisconsin winners each walked away with $500.00 and a year supply of Cousins Subs, in addition to an age-specific prize. Cousins Subs also made a winner of the 4H of Wisconsin by donating over $2000.00 to the foundation, which encourages leadership, community and companionship among youth.

"This was the easiest $500.00 I've ever made," said Chris Manke of Wauwautosa, Wisconsin winner of the adult prize category. "Cousins Subs has been more than generous with their support of the fair and the 4H Club. This was well worth the practice and trip out to the fair with my family."

"Ah, sweeet," was the comment from 17 year old Rusty Edlund of Greendale, Wisconsin, who also mooed his way to a year of Cousins Subs and $500.00. The youngest, and perhaps most impressive winner, was 11 year old Levi Klick of South Milwaukee who won the 'calf' category for his outstanding mooing abilities which udderly amazed the audience.

"We had no idea this event would grow to be so popular when we started it three years ago," said Larry Weissman, Vice President of Marketing for Cousins Subs. "It gets funnier and wilder every year." The Cousins cow calling competition has grown bigger and better. This year, bovine experts from neighboring states and as far away as Tennessee came to "moo" for cash. Registration was limited to one hundred people, who lined up more than an hour ahead of the event. Cousins called in Comedy Sportz to entertain the crowds and introduced a special 'Kiddie Korral' at Central Mall, with Subby, the Cousins Subs' mascot on hand for photos.

Event photos can be found at http://www.cousinssubs.com/moo and interviews are available with Cousins Subs or 4H representatives, as well as the Moo-la-palooza winners.

About Cousins Subs

Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
