MILWAUKEE (August 17, 2010) – Cousins Subs® today announced that its 2010 Moo Tour and Moo-la-palooza® mooing contest at the Wisconsin State Fair raised $2,900 for 4H clubs throughout Wisconsin.
The 2010 Moo Tour stopped at “Breakfast on the Farm” in Greenleaf, “Salute to Cows” in Appleton, “Cows on the Concourse” in Madison, the Jefferson County Fair, the Fond du Lac County Fair, the Washington County Fair and the Racine County Fair this summer looking for mooing contestants to qualify for Moo-la-palooza, which was held at the Wisconsin State Fair on August 11. For every contestant that mooed at a Moo Tour stop, Cousins gave $1 to local 4H groups. In all, Cousins donated $1,400 to local 4H groups around the state. At Moo-la-palooza, Cousins Subs also donated $20 per mooing contestant to the Wisconsin 4H Foundation, for a total of $1,500.
“For so many years, Wisconsin 4H clubs have done so much for our youth, and this is our way to say thanks,” said Larry Weissman, vice president of marketing for Cousins Subs. “We have so much fun on our Moo Tour and at Moo-la-palooza, finding the Grand Champion Mooer. But the real winners are the kids in 4H.”
Since the Moo-la-palooza effort began in 2004, Cousins Subs has donated $14,500 to Wisconsin 4H clubs.
About Cousins Subs
Cousins Subs, based in Menomonee Falls in suburban Milwaukee, is a restaurant specializing in East Coast-style submarine sandwiches made with the finest ingredients served on a variety of freshly baked breads, along with salads, soups, chips and soft drinks. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East Coast-style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East and with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients. For more information, visit www.cousinssubs.com.
